Nina Ricci: Fantasy!

Since I did quite a bit of travelling during the summer, I ended up browsing through a lot of duty free shops in airports, especially the fragrances section. I really wanted to find a new perfume that suited me and after lots of searching and debating, I found what I was looking for:

It's the new fragrance by Nina Ricci, called "Fantasy". The bottle's design is hands down the cutest I have ever seen among all perfumes! Drawn on the bottle are flowers, baby chicks, stars, apples, butterflies, and my personal favorite- a baby deer. The entire packaging is simply adorable. But enough about how it looks, let's get down to how it smells!

It is described as a fruity-floral scent. It drew its inspiration from dreams of spring and is suppose to be playful and imaginative.

Top Notes: bergamot, mandarin, pear, cherry blossom, roses, and heliotrope.
Base Notes: mate and brown sugar

It is definitely a sweet perfume, which I'm normally not huge on, but it is also very citrusy and therefore I found it extremely appealing. The scent doesn't really change on your skin like some other perfumes. The only thing that I was disappointed by was the longevity: 2-3 hours. Certainly won't last you the whole day. Like most perfumes, it is rather expensive ($60 for 50ml) so I definitely suggest finding a good deal online.

Overall, this is undeniably my new favorite fragrance. Will definitely repurchase it once I run out. I just hope that won't be too difficult later since it is limited edition.

I 100% recommend this to anyone who loves young fruity-floral perfumes :).

Sally Hershberger Supreme Lift: Miracle Product?

I just returned from a long stay in the UK and absolutely loved it! While there, I noticed that my hair had much more volume- most likely due to the "hard" water. However, my home in Canada has "soft" water and as soon as I returned, my hair went back to being its usual limp self. I have been struggling with flat hair for ages due to having really straight thin hair. But after having a moment of blissful volume, I decided to find a solution.

So I went out to Shoppers Drug Mart and found this:

The Supreme Lift spray by Sally Hershberger. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing it but after seeing such good ratings of it online, I gave it a shot. And I'm so thankful that I did! It is officially my go-to-product after each shower. With this spray, my hair actually ended up looking thicker! It worked by lifting the roots of my hair, giving it more of a bounce. I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from flat, thin hair.

Directions of use: "Spray generously into towel-dried hair, making sure to reach the roots. Comb through with finger tips, add other styling products if desired, then blow dry."
I very much agree with the instructions. A couple sprays won't do the trip, nor will air-drying your hair.

Pros:
It does what it claims to do: "plumps & power up limp hair"
Safe for color-treated hair
Pleasant smell
Protects hair from heat styling
Lasts all day

Extra special pro: PREVENTS HAIR FROM BECOMING OILY. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that my 'second day hair' was still 100% clean! Normally, I'd use some dry shampoo on the second day but if I use the spray after washing my hair the previous day, I don't need to. I think the reason behind this is the fact that it actually lifts the roots of your hair so it isn't so close to your scalp. Either way, this is by far my most favorite effect.

Cons:
Personally, I wouldn't consider the first one a con since it doesn't bother me, but I figured some people would:
  • it leaves the area where you sprayed with a texture as if you used a tiny bit of hairspray. But since you only really use the product for the top of your hair where the roots are, one really doesn't notice it.
  • A bit expensive. The original price is $12.99 for 125ml. I happened to buy it for $10.99 since it was on sale. It's a bit on the pricey side, but still affordable.

Overall, I am in love with this product and will definitely repurchase it :).
