Escada: Cherry in the Air

Quite a few new scents have hit the market this spring! Just in time too since my beloved 'Fantasy' by Nina Ricci has finally run out. I tend to go for fruity perfumes so when I saw the latest release by Escada called 'Cherry in the Air', I knew I had to give it a go. I went to the store and was given two samples. Sure enough, I was hooked! I ran back to the store and purchased the full size (50ml).

It is honestly the best scent for spring. It's sweet, very light, fresh, and actually smells like cherries. It's definitely more on the sweet side than citrus. Sadly since it is a light fragrance, the longevity isn't great, about 4 hours maximum I'd say. The packaging is also a bit plain for my liking (each to their own), but it still looks nice on the vanity table.

Notes:
Black Cherry, Raspberry, Mandarin, Marshmallow, Gardenia, Coconut, Sandalwood, Oakwood

I highly recommend giving it a whiff next time you are checking out perfumes :). It is limited edition and from what the counter lady told me, seems to be selling out really fast. I also suggest asking for a sample to try out before deciding whether or not to buy the full size... After all, perfume is never cheap!

What are your favorite fragrances this season? :)

Top Winter Perfumes!

As soon as I noticed the weather was starting to turn cold, I instantly realized I could start wearing my winter scents again! So I excitedly pulled out these two fragrances: Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Stella by Stella McCartney. I always preferred wearing fruity sweet perfumes during the summer, and floral musky ones in the winter.

Stella is definitely not my usual choice of perfumes. It's the opposite of what I normally go for, but something about the scent drew me in. It's very warm and simply the perfect rose fragrance. It's certainly more of an adult perfume, so you either love it or hate it. The perfume is a strong one and therefore lasts all day. Perfect for autumn and winter.
Notes: rose, peony flower, mandarin, rose absolute, amber.

Daisy is a very neutral scent that I believe anyone would love. It is the better option if you don't like rose fragrances. It can even be worn during the summer since it's very fresh! Sadly, it only lasts a few hours since it's not a super strong fragrance.
Notes: strawberry, violet leaves, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia, violet petals, jasmine petals, musk, vanilla, white woods.

Both rollerballs are available at Sephora for $20 each. Definitely worth checking out :).

Nina Ricci: Fantasy!

Since I did quite a bit of travelling during the summer, I ended up browsing through a lot of duty free shops in airports, especially the fragrances section. I really wanted to find a new perfume that suited me and after lots of searching and debating, I found what I was looking for:

It's the new fragrance by Nina Ricci, called "Fantasy". The bottle's design is hands down the cutest I have ever seen among all perfumes! Drawn on the bottle are flowers, baby chicks, stars, apples, butterflies, and my personal favorite- a baby deer. The entire packaging is simply adorable. But enough about how it looks, let's get down to how it smells!

It is described as a fruity-floral scent. It drew its inspiration from dreams of spring and is suppose to be playful and imaginative.

Top Notes: bergamot, mandarin, pear, cherry blossom, roses, and heliotrope.
Base Notes: mate and brown sugar

It is definitely a sweet perfume, which I'm normally not huge on, but it is also very citrusy and therefore I found it extremely appealing. The scent doesn't really change on your skin like some other perfumes. The only thing that I was disappointed by was the longevity: 2-3 hours. Certainly won't last you the whole day. Like most perfumes, it is rather expensive ($60 for 50ml) so I definitely suggest finding a good deal online.

Overall, this is undeniably my new favorite fragrance. Will definitely repurchase it once I run out. I just hope that won't be too difficult later since it is limited edition.

I 100% recommend this to anyone who loves young fruity-floral perfumes :).
