Sally Hershberger Supreme Lift: Miracle Product?

I just returned from a long stay in the UK and absolutely loved it! While there, I noticed that my hair had much more volume- most likely due to the "hard" water. However, my home in Canada has "soft" water and as soon as I returned, my hair went back to being its usual limp self. I have been struggling with flat hair for ages due to having really straight thin hair. But after having a moment of blissful volume, I decided to find a solution.

So I went out to Shoppers Drug Mart and found this:

The Supreme Lift spray by Sally Hershberger. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing it but after seeing such good ratings of it online, I gave it a shot. And I'm so thankful that I did! It is officially my go-to-product after each shower. With this spray, my hair actually ended up looking thicker! It worked by lifting the roots of my hair, giving it more of a bounce. I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from flat, thin hair.

Directions of use: "Spray generously into towel-dried hair, making sure to reach the roots. Comb through with finger tips, add other styling products if desired, then blow dry."
I very much agree with the instructions. A couple sprays won't do the trip, nor will air-drying your hair.

Pros:
It does what it claims to do: "plumps & power up limp hair"
Safe for color-treated hair
Pleasant smell
Protects hair from heat styling
Lasts all day

Extra special pro: PREVENTS HAIR FROM BECOMING OILY. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that my 'second day hair' was still 100% clean! Normally, I'd use some dry shampoo on the second day but if I use the spray after washing my hair the previous day, I don't need to. I think the reason behind this is the fact that it actually lifts the roots of your hair so it isn't so close to your scalp. Either way, this is by far my most favorite effect.

Cons:
Personally, I wouldn't consider the first one a con since it doesn't bother me, but I figured some people would:
  • it leaves the area where you sprayed with a texture as if you used a tiny bit of hairspray. But since you only really use the product for the top of your hair where the roots are, one really doesn't notice it.
  • A bit expensive. The original price is $12.99 for 125ml. I happened to buy it for $10.99 since it was on sale. It's a bit on the pricey side, but still affordable.

Overall, I am in love with this product and will definitely repurchase it :).

I may give this a try if it protects from heat styling :)
